Cholestin is a type of over the counter supplement that is manufactured by a company called Pharmanex. This organization is owned by a larger company called Nu Skin. At the time of this review, Pharmanax does have its own official website, where it provides information about the product and offers it for sale. It markets itself as being beneficial to its users in helping to maintain normal cholesterol levels that have already been achieved, and to support normal cardiovascular function.

For 60 softgels, the price was $55.25. As one softgel is taken twice per day (with meals), this means that one bottle provides a one month supply of the product. Within each softgel is a proprietary formula of a total of 525 mg. Though the actual amounts of individual ingredients within this proprietary blend of marine lipids and trademarked Sytrinol, the substances within that second ingredient have been identified as natural citrus and palm fruit. This product also contains geraniol.

It is important to note that Cholestin is not being sold as a product that will help someone with high cholesterol to be able to lower his or her levels. Instead, it is meant for someone who already has normal levels and wants to make an extra effort to prevent those levels from rising above the healthy range. This makes it different from the traditional cholesterol products on the market that use high fat product absorption blockers.

Before considering this supplement, it is a very good idea to speak with your doctor so that you will know exactly what your cholesterol levels are and which steps are the right ones for you to take to make sure that they can return to normal, or so that they can maintain that level. Moreover, it is a good idea not to rely exclusively on Cholestin to keep cholesterol levels within a healthy range. The use of this product should be combined with a healthy diet and a regular activity routine.

At the time of this review, the manufacturer did not appear to provide any explanation to help to support any of the claims that were made about what it is supposed to be able to do. This makes it difficult to know if it is safe, effective, and/or healthy. This makes it even more important to speak with a doctor before taking this product. Without any evidence from the manufacturer, it is up to you to be able to work with your physician to create your own healthy strategy for cholesterol control.
