Metabolife Green Tea is a weight loss supplement that is manufactured by a company that creates a range of different products. It is called Metabolife International and it is based in San Diego, California.
Metabolife International is an established company in the nonprescription weight loss category and though it has had a rocky past, it appears to have leveled off in terms of its legal struggles. The primary focus of the negative press that it has received occurred when the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) determined that the company had taken on certain actions to conceal evidence that it had been adding ephedra to its products. This was particularly true in its product, Metabolife 356, in which it was the primary ingredient.
The problem with that practice was that ephedra is illegal for use in most types of supplements in the United States, including weight loss products, from which it has been specifically banned. The reason is that it has been linked to certain highly dangerous side effects, including more than one fatality.
That said, those shady behaviors appear to be a past that the company is attempting to put behind it, and among its current range of products, it now offers Metabolife Green Tea, which has a formula that is completely absent of ephedra. The official webpage for this product on the manufacturer’s website explains that these pills help a dieter to lose weight by boosting the metabolism. When keeping up with regular exercise and a calorie reduced diet, this pill is meant to help the dieter to achieve his or her best results.
At the time that this review was written, the official webpage said that the Metabolife Green Tea formula contained: SuperCitriMax® (which is essentially a garcinia fruit extract), green tea extract, guarana seed extract, and yerba mate leaf extract. Clearly, this is a product that is strikingly high in stimulants. In fact, other than the first ingredient, the rest all contain caffeine in varying levels. Guarana and yerba mate are both known to be very powerful stimulants, and in this formula they have been standardized for caffeine.
While this can help to increase energy levels and alertness, which can indeed be quite helpful for reducing weight, particularly when it comes to keeping up with regular exercise, many dieters also find that guarana and yerba mate can produce unwanted side effects. Those can include anxiety, jitters and tremors, headaches, sleep struggles, nausea, and other uncomfortable symptoms.
