Forskolin Lean & Tone

Forskolin Lean & Tone ReviewForskolin Lean & Tone is a weight loss dietary supplement from BioGentic Laboratories. It is a stimulant-free product that contains “patented weight loss potency.”

This OTC diet pill has only one active ingredient, Forslean, a patented ingredient of which there is 250 mg per 1 capsule serving.

According to the manufacturer this is an ideal dose as a 12-week clinical studies of this ingredient showed support for:

  • Enhanced lean, toned muscle
  • Improve fat-burning metabolism
  • Reduced body fat
  • Improved BMI (Body Mass Index)

That said, just because the maker of a product says that an ingredient can be beneficial based on a study, this doesn’t mean that the ingredient is proven effective or safe.

How to Take Forskolin Lean & Tone

The suggested use is to take 1 capsule, twice daily with a full glass of water. It is preferred for the pills to be take on an empty stomach and about 30 minutes before meals (one serving before breakfast and one serving between lunch and dinner).

Is Forskolin Effective for Weight Loss?

The manufacturer of Forskolin Lean & Tone claims that forskohlin has a positive effect on fat loss and on the maintenance of muscle mass, which helps to reduce fat and maintain muscle tone. By utilizing the patented, researched and standardized Forslean, BioGenetic Labs claims that Forskolin Lean & Tone contains the “absolute highest quality forskohlin possible.”

Coleus forskohlii root (forskohlin) is the active ingredient in Forslean. The particular herb that is used in this patented ingredient is supposedly grown and cultivated under strict, sustainable conditions in Southern India to ensure that consistency of the growing conditions is always monitored.

Beyond what the manufacturer has to say, clinical research has been conducted on forskohlin for weight loss. One small 12 week study conducted on overweight and obese men found that when 250 mg of 10% forskolin extract was taken twice daily, after 12 weeks, more body fat was lost and there was a higher increase in testosterone levels in the subjects who took the extract compared to those on the placebo.

Another study involving mildly overweight women, found that forskohlin did not appear to promote weight loss in the women who took it, but did show that it may help to mitigate weight gain.

All that said, more research is needed to confirm the results in both cases. There is still too little known about this herb for it to be considered beneficial for weight management and other health conditions.

Ultimately, although BioGenetic Labs has done a great job marketing Forskolin Lean & Tone, there is no clinical proof that it can live up to its claims. A few minor studies are simply not enough to prove the safety or efficacy of any ingredient.
